The VisFBG optical sensor is an innovative optical sensor integrated within a standard optical fiber. It reflects light over a narrow bandwidth and responds reliably to temperature and strain fluctuations. Multiple FBG sensors can be inscribed in one optical fiber strand, and interrogated simultaneously using a single instrument. Thus, strain and/or temperature distribution can be monitored within structures of different sizes and shapes at very low cost
VisFlex strain and temperature sensors can be attached to most substrate materials permanently or temporarily. Various configurations can be created using this durable and versatile product; those configurations include the VisPatch array of strain sensors, combined strain and temperature sensors, or rosette configuration
VisLink, is a spot weldable FBG based strain and temperature sensor where the FBG sensors are attached to a thin metal substrate. Using this configuration, the sensor assembly can be spot welded directly to a steel structure, ensuring long-term, consistent strain transfer without compromising the inter-facial bond line. With this robust product, you can create an array of strain sensors, a strain and temperature sensor combination, or a rosette configuration. This robust sensor is suitable for challenging environments such as marine, offshore structure, nuclear, bridge and dam.
